Complementary Adult Training
Many young people, having completed the first six week course, already show significant ‘distance travelled’ in their sense of self worth and improved behaviour. However, for the programme to have a lasting effect, young people need to be in environments where the insights they have gained about their potential can be regularly re-enforced. For this purpose, adult courses for parents, carers and school staff are available.
The Swindon Young People's Empowerment Programme (SYEP) is an initiative of the Bahá’ís of Swindon and is as such devoid of religious traditions or dogmas. The programme is offered as a contribution to the government's priority of social and emotional aspects of learning (SEAL), and OFSTED and school priorities to incorporate 'spiritual education' in its broadest sense.
